Support Us

Flight. It Intrigues Us. It Inspires Us. It Moves Us.

Flight epitomizes what the human spirit is capable of achieving. When we decided we would not be confined to the ground, imagination, curiosity, and technology came together to make the impossible possible. And the world could never go back.

Today, an emerging mix of imagination and innovation is pushing those who fly, and those who support them, toward the future, toward new frontiers. And just like before, the world will be forever changed. This next spark of transformation belongs to the generations to come.

They will dream of new ways to bring our society together, using technologies only they are capable of creating. And we can help pave the way for them.

We can inspire them. We can teach them .We can equip them with the knowledge and tools they need to build upon as they create their own destiny.

The museum will honor all who have started their journeys here and provide a place where they and their families can gather, learn, and understand the legacy they carry.  While also offering an engaging hands-on view of the possibilities ahead in military and commercial flight. Aviation, space, and cybersecurity are all vital to the future of San Antonio, and the first step to creating this next-generation workforce is education and inspiration.

Like the wings of an aircraft, these two journeys, heritage and innovation, work together to lift the next generation. To spark curiosity. To ignite imagination. To empower today’s youth to become tomorrow’s dreamers and changemakers.

Volunteer Corps

We’re looking for volunteers! Opportunities include Basic Training Graduations every Thursday, Airmen Heritage Museum guides, Historic Uniform Model, and other Air Force-focused events.

Journey of Flight has formed a Volunteer Corps in anticipation of supporting these efforts and they need your help. Currently the volunteer corps supports the Air & Space Forces’ Basic Military Training (BMT) Graduations every Thursday morning.  They call themselves “Graduation Guides” with the mission of greeting the BMT graduates’ families providing information and guidance.  From 3 to 5 thousand family members show up every week to honor the 6 to 8 hundred new Airmen & Guardians.  For many, this is their first exposure to the Air & Space Forces communities and their first visit to San Antonio.

Other Volunteer Corps opportunities will include Airmen Heritage Museum guides, Historic Uniform Model, and other Air Force-focused events.

Interested in joining the Volunteer Corps? Click on the volunteer button to begin the volunteer process. Training will be provided.
